Decorate With Green.....Especially At Christmas

From a meaning of colors perspective, green is also the color of growth, the color of spring, of renewal and rebirth. It renews and restores depleted energy. It is the sanctuary away from the stresses of modern living, restoring us back to a sense of well being. Green has a very natural feel and works so well with other neutral colors. I personally believe that every room needs a touch of green even if it is a plant therefore I use green in every room I design. I love to bring the outdoors inside so I use alot of plants.

There are so many pretty shades of green to choose from. Lime is very trendy right now (see Decorating With Lime, June ) but for this post I am focusing on more traditional shades of green. And with Christmas almost upon us I want to show what a pretty color it is to build your holiday decorations around. Consider green as the color for your next painting project.

Try using a darker color on your woodwork. This green is pretty against the grey walls.

The green accessories against the green wall is so lovely. And the light wood of the antique chest, mirror, and chairs is perfect.

Hunter green is still a popular color. Keep your trim natural or paint it hunter. White is too stark and not trendy today.
