Lars Bolander Interiors ....Comfortable, Sophisticated, Scandinavian Style

Lars Bolander, one of America's leading interior designers and tastemakers, has succeeded in winning a plethera of converts to his style of Scandinavian design. A style that has such sophistication and depth because of his wonderful combination of classical antiques, ethnic pieces and global souvenirs. Take all this and set it against the palatte of  light airy colors, add in some painted furniture, miniature floral print fabrics, nice stripes in cotton or linen, and marry all that to an element of quirkiness, and you have typical Lars Bolander .

Lars Bolander studied at the Stockholm School of Art and worked under renowned Swedish furniture designer Carl Malmsten and British designer Gaby Schreiber. Known for his light, classic Gustavian design sensibility, Bolander has designed homes and apartments all over the world that have been published in World of Interiors, House & Garden, and Vogue. The Lars Bolander stores, located in New York, Palm Beach, and Miami, offer a sophisticated, eclectic mix of traditional Swedish, Danish, French, and British antiques and modern pieces, textiles, and decorative arts.

The famed Swedish designer has a style of his own and creating something intriguing and restful to the eye. I think Juan Pablo Molyneux said it perfectly in a quote, " Lars has the magic formula for combining the sophisticated Gustavian style with the rustic charm of the Scandinavian countryside. Just perfect!"

“There is no rule to design: it’s about fantasy and imagination and putting it all together.”

—Lars Bolander

My philosophy as well. I like a room to look collected.
