Decorating With Banquette Seating

When I think of a banquette, I think of eating with friends in an elegant restaurant on Paris's Right Bank. Lots of laughter and fascinating conversation. Why not turn your eating area into a sophisticated salle à manger and throw some fabulous dinner parties darling!!

There are many options when deciding on your choice of  banquette. There is the kind that invites a morning cup of coffee and paper and is motivation to make more time for it. Settling into one of these cozy breakfast banquettes would be the perfect start to a day. There is also the kind that transforms a room into an area perfectly suited for reading and reflection, and small intimate dinners. Or if you are the practical type, a banquette seating area is a great use of space.

Whatever your style, taste or design need, a banquette will definitely be a nice addition to your interiors.

This is my kind of banquette area!! Designed by Mario Buatta, it is colorful, refined, and intimate.

Built in banquettes can be customized to fit any space.

This eating area has a beautiful antique elegance about it.

Banquette Style dining space with pretty chandelier and exposed brick, and amazing windows that let in tons of natural light.

Even a small space can be utilized for banquette seating.

Gorgeous!! The custom banquette by Jim Couch in Old World Weavers silk velvet  provides seating in the smoked-mirror dining room.

A beautiful high banquette with nailhead trim.

If you want to get away from a cookie cutter look for your dining room, try using banquettes. I have two rectangular tables that I use to make one long table or pull apart like this for restaurant style dining. It's versatile and fun. I am loving these two banquettes!

Sleek and sophisticated dining area.

I like the cottage charm of this banquette corner.

A banquette can serve as a focal point in the kitchen, or can even serve as a transitional feature between the kitchen and another room.

The French Country look can benefit from a banquette area as well.

The tufting adds that elegant flair to this area.

This banquette creates a colorful salon suited to reading and reflection.

Colorful and chic.

The fabric and design choice has turned this banquette area into an elegant eating space.

A colorful banquette that makes a BIG statement!!

A larger curved banquette  is perfect for a round table. This one is more versatile since it is not built in.

Don't forget they can provide valuable storage space.

A cute country style eating area. The ends of the banquette remind me of an old church pew.

The stone floor and wall treatment add to the ambiance of this Old World style banquette.

A bit more contemporary traditional space complete with cool acrylic table. Once again there is storage space under this built in.

If you are considering using a banquette for your eating area, I hope you have found something you like that will help you in your choices.
